Fillings

A dental filling is a procedure that is used to repair a small cavity or a damaged tooth. The filling material is used to fill in the space created by the cavity, restoring the tooth's shape, strength, and function.

During a filling procedure, we will remove the decayed or damaged portion of the tooth and clean the affected area. The dentist will then place the filling material into the cavity and shape it to match the natural contours of the tooth. Once the filling material has hardened, the dentist will polish it to ensure that it is smooth and comfortable in the mouth.

There are several types of dental materials that can be used, including: Composite tooth colored fillings, amalgam silver fillings, porcelain and metal alloy fillings. The type of filling material that is used will depend on several factors, including the size and location of the cavity and the patient's preferences. We will discuss the options with the patient and help them choose the best approach for their individual needs and goals.
